When my children were in public school, the highlight of my day was seeing their faces in the evening. I listened as they chatted away about the exciting things that went on during the day. You know, a friend introduced them to a new song, they played on the playground, ate lunch, laughed at a joke, etc. After listening to all of that, the burning question I couldn’t wait to ask was, “What did you do today in the classroom?” The answer was always; nothing or a long awkward silence followed by, “I don’t know.”
Wait a minute. You mean to tell me that I dropped you off to a building for eight hours with a teacher, and you did nothing! How can that be possible?
As a parent, that can be frustrating. And, honestly, we know our child(ren) did something. We just don’t know what that something is. I wanted to make it a little easy for you. Below, you will find a list of math and ELA links for you by grade level. The links will have the standards for mathematical practice, introduction (how to read the grade level standards), and standards by each grade level. This list is for GA.
